Morty's Comedy Joint is more than just a comedy club, it is the best night out in Indiana. Whether you are watching a performance by some of the world's top comedians, enjoying one of our local draft beers, or attending a party in our unique event space, you'll be having fun.
The foundation of Morty's Comedy Joint lies in presenting a superior comedy show from start to finish each night using only the best talent from around the world. Morty's Comedy Joint believes that comedy is art, and art is clever - we uniformly reject tired comics looking for an outlet to test the limits of vulgarity. Our search for originality and professionalism is unrelenting, and we pride ourselves on both identifying the best of the day and cultivating future stars.
But great talent alone isn't the key to a great show. We take great pains to mix and match the different material, styles, and pacing of our professional comedians in order to ensure the best combinations possible. The result is consistency: Morty's Comedy Joint constructs a great show every night.
Upping the Ante
The same folks who operate the Laughing Skull in Atlanta and the Laughing Devil in New York City, the owners of Morty's Comedy Joint have a tremendous amount of experience operating successful and hip comedy clubs. In fact, Morty's Comedy Joint has been voted the best comedy club in Indianapolis three years in a row.
The ownership team is a healthy mix of comedians and businessmen - fusing the best features of dozens of clubs from across the country and business practices from around the world, and topped off with a level of sophistication previously unheard of in the industry.
Technically speaking, Morty's Comedy Joint is no slouch either. The memorabilia and record collection on the club's walls creates the feeling of a shrine to comedy, while offering unobstructed views from every seat in the house. Morty's Comedy Joint employs a state-of-the-art audio-visual system, ensuring appropriate acoustics and lighting, so good that we record and produce comedy albums live inside the club.
Spend an evening at Morty's Comedy Joint to see, taste, and experience the difference.

Q: How old do I have to be to get into the club?
A: You must be 18 or older with a valid ID for admittance into the club. We do allow those under the age of 18 if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Q: Do I need to arrive at the show early?
A: Yes. We strongly recommend that you arrive at least 45 minutes before showtime. Seating is limited and is available on a first come, first serve basis. Our shows frequently sell out and reservations are held only until 30 minutes before showtime. The only way to ensure seating is with an advance ticket purchase, which holds your seat right up to our showtime (this will not ensure group seating together if you show up at showtime and we have a sold out show). If we have guests in need of seating at that time, your reservation will be cancelled.
Q: What is the cover charge?
A: Ticket prices vary from show to show. See our calendar
for more information.
Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: Yes. We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Traveler's Checks and cash. Personal checks are not accepted.
Q: Is there a drink minimum?
A: There is not a drink minimum but there is a two item minimum in the show room, which can include food or drink. We have a full dinner menu, so you may enjoy food and drinks. An 18% gratuity is added to every bill.
Q: Do you serve food?
A: Yes. Morty's has a wonderful selection of dinner options, appetizers and desserts which are available in the showroom during performances.
Q: Can you accommodate large groups or private parties?
A: Of course. Large groups are welcome, but reservations are strongly recommended. Additionally, large groups should arrive at least 45 minutes before show time to ensure group seating.
Private Parties are our specialty. Morty's provides a number of party packages to fit just about any budget. Each package offers you the opportunity to select from dozens of combinations of hors d'oeuvres, entrees, side dishes, and desserts to compliment full or partial access to Morty's bar and, of course, an unabridged private performance by a regular line-up of professional touring comedians. Choose from one of those packages, or customize your own function with the help of one of Morty's Party Planners. See our private party page
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Casual but presentable. Come on folks, you're in public.
Q: Do you have smoke-free shows?
A: Yes. All of our shows are non-smoking. We have a wonderful smoking section in our parking lot, though it gets a bit cold in the winter.
Q: Are the shows vulgar or dirty?
A: Morty's is especially selective in booking its performers to ensure a standard of professionalism that exceeds industry standards. However, many of the comedians who perform at Morty's include some degree of adult material in their acts. Morty's recognizes that this material does not appeal to everyone - so the best way to see if you will be offended by a comedian is to google them. We always recommend you watch a few clips before you come see an act live.
Q: Do you permit heckling?
A: Sometimes an act will talk to the crowd. But uninvited "heckling" or any other effort to interfere with a performance which may be disruptive to other guests is not permitted and will result in removal from the show without refund. We request you use our lobby for any loud conversations, telephone usage or texting during the performances. Your ticket allows you to enjoy the show, just like everyone else's ticket allows them to enjoy the show. Don't take that away from them.
Q: Is parking available?
A: Ample free parking is available at Morty's.
Q: How can I get booked to perform at the club?
A: Professional touring comedians seeking to be booked for a performance at the club should contact our booking department
Q: Do you have an "open mic" night?
A: We sure do. Wednesdays, we host The Great Indiana Mic-Off. It's booked ahead of time - so make sure to check it out and submit
. The winner gets invited back to a weekend show, and we've had many come through that have been hired for paid work at the club.
Q: How can I get advance notice of shows, coupons and other great deals?
A: Visit our calendar
